I am writing to tell all the Buenting cousins and the family that JoAnn Feltz (Mrs. Duane), daughter of Anna (Buenting) Flessner is in the hospital at Waverly, IA. She has abdominal cancer and is now a hospice patient. She is not expected to live much longer. She is aware of her situation and knows that God will be taking her home soon. We will keep you informed in this manner (and on this website) in the next weeks or days.
Update 9/27 – JoAnn passed away last evening at the Waverly Hospital. Visitation will be at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Allison, IA, on Thursday, 10/1/09. Family visitation is at 4:00 p.m. and public visitation is from 5:00 p,.m. to 7:00 p.m. From the main street of Allison, turn west (left) and go to the corner of Birch Street. Address: 308 Birch Street.
The funeral for JoAnn (Flessner) Feltz is scheduled for Friday, 10/2/09, at 1:30 p.m. and will be held at the St. James Lutheran Church, 421 N. Main Street, in Allison, IA. The family members are asked to be there at 12:30 p.m., and the pastor will meet with the family at 1:00 p.m.
Frieda just called and told me that Uncle Henry passed away this morning. His funeral will be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, in Flatville, Illinois. This is short notice and I am certainly limited on details, so if you are able to attend the funeral, hopefully, you will be able to track down more information. Please relay to others in your family that may not be on the receiving end of this e mail message. I am sure that Frieda will be calling many.

Henry W. Buenting Jr. of St. Joseph passed away at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Helia Healthcare of Champaign. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday May 1, 2009, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville, with the Rev. James Lehmann officiating. Burial will be in Kopmann Cemetery, Royal. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Mr. Buenting was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Pomeroy, Iowa, the son of Henry W. and Ollie Buenting Sr. He married Clara C. Reitmeier on Feb. 10, 1950, in Flatville. She survives. Also surviving are one sister, Fredia Hanson of Pomeroy, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters. Henry was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville. He worked for Hunter Lumber Company, Ogden, Sadler Feed Mill, Ogden, and Meier Duitsman Oil Company in Royal. Memorials to donor’s choice.
Henry George Flessner, son of George Flessner and Annie Buenting, died on January 5, 2009. Services were held on January 9, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Harlan, IA.

Hello dear family,
I was asked to send a note out letting you know that our cousin John Buenting–son of John and Johanna, died early this morning. Darlene Walker, his sister, happens to attend the same church that I do in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11 at the Caldwell Raddatz Funeral Home and Crematory in Des Moines. The address is 8201 Hickman and the phone number is 515-276-0551. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the New Van Meter Veterans Cemetary
His wife, Evelyn, resides in Altoona, Iowa. Please remember her and the rest of the family in your prayers.
